The Power of Love

This started out as a story, (I’m still working on it) titled Dark Seduction, but somehow I got sidetracked and ended up with an 800 word poem that I’m really proud of. I am by no means a professional writer or poet for that matter, but I love writing and I think that’s what really matters.

The Power of Love
He was rough and angry, she was sweet and pure,
she had all she wanted, he had to endure.
They met by chance one Sunday, she was heading to the store,
he watched her from the sidewalk, he saw her, that’s for sure.
He followed her inside, glancing down the aisles,
she was shopping for some groceries, then he saw her smile,
she turned around and saw him, he couldn’t even speak,
she said “hello” and passed him by, his knees went rather weak.
